About me

My name is Clément Cartier. I am a PhD student in History and Philosophy of Mathematics in the SPHERE laboratory, under the supervision of Agathe Keller and Matthieu Husson.

My doctoral research deals with material practices of computation documented in a 14th-century Latin text written in Oxford, the Treatise on the Albion. I am especially interested in problems related to the digital edition of this text, and in the uses of this instrument in different teaching contexts.

About this website

What does “Catgolin” mean?
It doesn't mean anything special. “Catgolin” is my middle name. Since “Clément” is a very common name, “Catgolin” is easier to find unique identifiers and domain names online!
“How did I build this website?”
This website runs with PHP, using the framework Symfony. The website is hosted by LWS, which also provides my email address.
